What is Azzaro?
Azzaro is a French fashion house founded by Loris Azzaro. It became famous for flamboyant evening dresses worn by clients such as Tina Turner, Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren, and later for its fragrances.
History
Loris Azzaro opened his first workshop in 1965, designing bags, belts and embroidered tops, and in 1967 opened a boutique at 65 Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris. Fragrances followed in the 1970s, menswear was added in 1992 and jewellery was launched under licence in 2007. Compagnie Frey bought the fashion house in 2002, and it has been owned by Reig Capital Group since 2006.
