What is LEVV?
LEVV is a Dutch kidswear brand that describes itself as a stylish clothing brand for kids who know what they want. It is recognisable by its double V logo and is owned by Style Labels, the company behind the Quapi kidswear labels.
History
Style Labels was established in 2017, growing out of Quapi Kidswear, which Monique van der Staay started in 2011. The company announced LEVV in December 2017 as a girls' brand for ages 6 to 16, with its first collection reaching stores in July 2018. At launch the plan was for two collections a year delivered in three instalments, with prices ranging from 19.95 to 99.95 euros.
Products and positioning
The brand has since grown into several lines:
- LEVV for girls and boys, sizes 6Y (110) to 16Y (176)
- Little LEVV, a playful line for sizes 1Y (86) to 8Y (128)
- LEVV Newborn, made of Fairtrade organic cotton, sizes 50 to 68
Categories include dresses, skirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, trousers, jackets, pyjamas, underwear and baby rompers, made from comfortable, fine fabrics.
Distribution
Style Labels designs, produces and distributes its brands in-house. LEVV is sold through physical retailers and has exhibited at Pitti Bimbo in Florence.
Why it matters
LEVV shows how a Dutch kidswear group extended into an older age bracket with a dedicated label, keeping design, production and distribution under one roof.
