Who is Andrea Guerra?
Andrea Guerra, born in 1965, is an Italian executive and the chief executive of Prada Group, the Milan based luxury company whose portfolio includes Prada, Miu Miu, Church's, Car Shoe and the pastry shop Marchesi 1824, and which agreed in 2025 to acquire Versace. He is one of the most experienced managers in Italian consumer and luxury goods.
Career
Guerra graduated in business administration from Sapienza University of Rome in 1989. He is best known for his long period as chief executive of Luxottica, the eyewear group. He later moved to LVMH, where he was chief executive of the group's hotel and hospitality activities.
He joined Prada Group in 2023 as chief executive and executive director, working alongside the founding family, including chairman Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada and Lorenzo Bertelli.
Leadership at Prada
Under Guerra, Prada Group has pursued growth driven in particular by Miu Miu. FashionNetwork reported strong first quarter 2025 results, with group revenue up 13 percent at constant exchange rates and Miu Miu retail sales up 60 percent year on year, while sales of the Prada brand itself were broadly flat. The group's activities also extend beyond fashion to the Luna Rossa sailing brand.
The most significant strategic move of his tenure so far is the agreed acquisition of Versace from Capri Holdings for 1.25 billion euros, confirmed in April 2025. In June 2025, when Prada brand chief executive Gianfranco D'Attis stepped down, Guerra also took on the role of chief executive of the Prada brand on an interim basis until a successor is found.

- Interim chief executive of the Prada brand from mid 2025
Why it matters
Guerra's appointment brought one of Italy's most experienced managers to a founder led luxury group at a time of generational transition. The Versace deal makes Prada Group a larger Italian luxury pole and a potential consolidator in a sector long dominated by French conglomerates. How he integrates Versace and balances the momentum of Miu Miu with the core Prada brand will shape the group's position in the coming years.
