Pilar Riaño is an economic journalist and the founder of Modaes, a digital newspaper dedicated to the business of fashion in Spain and internationally. She also co-founded its publisher, Cinnamon News.
Career
Riaño holds a journalism degree from Universidad Ramon Llull and an MBA in fashion business management from Isem and the Universidad de Navarra. Before founding Modaes she worked at the Spanish business daily Expansión. She led Modaes from its launch in 2009 and the Cinnamon News group from 2014. In 2021 she left to become director of external communications and institutional relations at Mango. She has also taught at several Spanish universities.
