Who is Stéphane Bianchi?

Stéphane Bianchi, born in France in 1965, is one of the most senior executives at LVMH. As group managing director and chairman of the executive committee, he exercises strategic and operational supervision of the group's houses together with chairman and chief executive Bernard Arnault, and oversees the regional presidents and the group's digital and data transformation.

Career

Bianchi graduated from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris and began his career as a consultant at Arthur Andersen. He then spent many years at the Yves Rocher group, becoming its chief executive in 1998 at the age of 33 and overseeing brands including Yves Rocher and Petit Bateau. He also served on the board of the Swiss group Maus Frères, owner of brands such as Lacoste and Gant.

He joined LVMH in 2018 as chief executive of TAG Heuer and the watchmaking division. In 2020 he became chief executive of the Watches and Jewelry division, overseeing Bulgari, Chaumet, Fred, Hublot, Repossi, TAG Heuer, Tiffany & Co. and Zenith. In 2024 LVMH appointed him group managing director and chairman of the executive committee, succeeding Toni Belloni, who stepped down after the annual general meeting in April 2024.

Influence on the fashion business

In his current position Bianchi has group wide responsibilities that touch every LVMH fashion and leather goods house. His remit includes:

  • Strategic and operational supervision of the group's houses
  • Oversight of the group's regional presidents
  • Leading the digital and data transformation of LVMH
  • Chairing the LVMH executive committee

His earlier role integrating Tiffany & Co. into the watches and jewellery division gave him experience of one of the largest acquisitions in luxury history.

Stéphane Bianchi and technology

LVMH states that Bianchi oversees the group's digital and data transformation. This places him at the centre of how the world's largest luxury group uses data, digital tools and technology across its houses and regions.

Why it matters

As the executive who works most closely with Bernard Arnault on running the group's houses, Bianchi is one of the most influential managers in luxury. His background spanning beauty, watches and jewellery and his responsibility for digital and data make him a key figure in how LVMH, and by extension the wider luxury industry, operates.
