History
The business opened a boutique at the Little Nell Hotel in Aspen in 2002 and a Madison Avenue flagship in Manhattan in 2003. In 2014 it moved to a four-storey, 10,500 square foot townhouse flagship at 825 Madison Avenue. The house has also operated an in-store boutique at Harrods in London.
Products and positioning
From its fur roots, the house grew into eveningwear and ready-to-wear. Since 2011 it has designed an exclusive bridal collection for Kleinfeld Bridal, and it offers accessories and a home collection.
Distribution
Alongside its own boutiques, Dennis Basso has a long collaboration with the shopping channel QVC, which began more than 20 years ago and presents faux furs, ready-to-wear, accessories and home products to a much wider audience than its luxury salons.
