What is Harvest Label?
Harvest Label is a Japanese bag brand that grew out of denim. In 1995 the founder of Harvest Corp, Tatsuya Hige, launched a denim bag, which was a new carrying material at the time. Designer Koichi Yamaguchi, known for the Tanker series at Porter, was exploring denim bags too and partnered with him, and Harvest Label was born.
Products and positioning
The label's style is described as vintage and military-inspired. Its debut lines included the Flyer's and Super Harcules series, and the Flyer's was relaunched for the brand's 25th anniversary.

Production
Almost all lines are made at Harvest Label's own production studio in Osaka rather than offshore. The studio has about 70 employees, including master craftsmen and in-house designers and sampling staff, and the brand reportedly produced raw materials and components from scratch for its debut lines.
Why it matters
Harvest Corp also operates six other brands, including Moustache and Doubles. Harvest Label shows how a Japanese bag maker can keep design, sampling and production under one roof.
