History

Mark Jeffery and Guy West were childhood friends from Northampton who began selling shoes on markets at the age of sixteen, buying factory rejects and customising them. After Mark's father lost his factory, the pair founded Jeffery~West in 1987. Their first collection had twelve pieces, financed by a bank loan.

In November 2012 the brand marked its 25th anniversary with an exhibition at the National Footwear Museum in Northampton. Jeffery-West designs are held in museum collections including the V&A in London.
