History
The private equity firm Valedo owned the company from 2008 to 2018. During that period the brand entered Norway, launched its own online store in 2013 and moved to an omnichannel set up in 2018. In June 2018 Oscar Jacobson was acquired by Mellby Gård, a family owned investment group.
Products and positioning
Formal menswear, especially suits and blazers, is the historical core of the brand. The collection has since widened, with greater emphasis on outerwear and knitwear. Oscar Jacobson also produces a golf collection.
Distribution
Nearly half of sales come through channels the company controls, namely its own stores and online shop. The rest is sold through retail partners.
