Who is Pietro Beccari?

Pietro Beccari is chairman and chief executive of Louis Vuitton, the largest brand in the LVMH group, and since 1 January 2026 also chairman and CEO of LVMH Fashion Group, the division that brings together houses including Celine, Loewe, Givenchy, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Pucci and Patou. Born in 1967 and a graduate in economics and commerce from the University of Parma, he is known for a marketing-led approach to brand building.

Career

Beccari began his career in consumer goods marketing, with roles at Benckiser in Italy and Parmalat in the United States, before becoming vice president of the haircare division at Henkel in Germany. He joined LVMH in 2006 as executive vice president of marketing and communications at Louis Vuitton.

In 2012 he was appointed president and CEO of Fendi, and in 2018 he moved to lead Christian Dior Couture as president and CEO, a period in which Dior expanded strongly. In February 2023 he returned to Louis Vuitton as chairman and CEO.

On 2 December 2025 LVMH announced that Beccari would succeed Sidney Toledano at the head of LVMH Fashion Group from 1 January 2026, while keeping his role at Louis Vuitton. Toledano, who had led the division since 2018, became a special adviser to Bernard Arnault. Damien Bertrand, deputy CEO of Louis Vuitton, joined the LVMH executive committee as part of the transition. Announcing the change, Bernard Arnault described Beccari as "a great leader and a unique talent with boundless energy".

Influence on the fashion business

  • Brand stewardship: has led Fendi, Dior and Louis Vuitton, three houses central to LVMH's fashion and leather goods results.
  • Portfolio role: now oversees a wider group of LVMH fashion houses alongside Louis Vuitton.
  • Marketing focus: brings a consumer marketing background to the luxury sector.

His expanded mandate arrived at a demanding moment. LVMH's fashion and leather goods division reported declining sales in the second and third quarters of 2025, and the group has emphasised a strategy of premiumisation to strengthen brand desirability in Europe and the United States. Beccari's task is to apply the methods he used at Dior and Louis Vuitton across a more varied set of brands.

Why it matters

Few executives have run as many top-tier luxury houses as Beccari. Holding the top job at both Louis Vuitton and LVMH Fashion Group places him at the centre of decisions on creative appointments, retail, pricing and brand positioning for a large part of the world's biggest luxury group. How the fashion houses under his oversight perform in a softer luxury market will be closely watched by investors, competitors and suppliers across the industry.
