BONBOM is a ready-to-wear label founded in 2020 by Korean designer Jo Bonbom, who is also its creative director. The brand is centred on tailoring and streetwear and reimagines timeless classics through references to old Hollywood films and early 20th century subcultures.

History

The label grew out of Jo's final-year portfolio at London College of Fashion. A small batch of garments made for the Future Society showroom in Shanghai led to the launch of the brand. Jo previously interned at Y/Project.

Products and positioning

BONBOM designs versatile pieces with zips and cords that allow the wearer to change the silhouette, and layers garments in unexpected ways, such as midi skirts and slip dresses over trousers. Its spring 2025 collection, Come Here Baby, featured deconstructed shirt dresses, hoodies and blazers inspired by Blue Velvet and Kill Bill.

Distribution

The brand is sold through international retailers including SSENSE. Club 21 in Singapore featured it in an all-Korean designer showcase, and Lane Crawford produced an exclusive T-shirt capsule. A footwear collaboration with Mihara Yasuhiro was announced.
