What is Dino Alves?
Dino Alves is a Lisbon based designer whose eponymous label is one of the best known names in Portuguese fashion. Often called the enfant terrible of Portuguese fashion, he trained in painting at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto and worked at the Cinemateca Portuguesa before turning to fashion.
History
His first show took place at Manobras de Maio in 1994, and he has presented regularly at ModaLisboa since May 1997. Over the years he has taught costume design, coordinated academic fashion projects and made his debut in cinema wardrobe in 2019. In October 2023 he received the Globo de Ouro for Fashion Personality of the Year.
