What is Fforme?
Fforme is a womenswear label founded by Laura Vazquez and Nina Khosla that debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2022. Its creative director is Paul Helbers, a Paris-based Dutch designer, and the brand sets out to combine European refinement with American ease.
History
Vazquez is a former executive vice president at Jil Sander Navy and Perry Ellis, while Khosla is a designer with a degree in engineering design from Stanford. Helbers previously led menswear design at Louis Vuitton, Maison Margiela and The Row, and Fforme is his first womenswear project. The label launched with an installation at a gallery in Chelsea, New York.
Products and positioning
Collections are released as small, modular editions built around a few key fabrics, mostly in neutral tones and without logos.
- Jackets, including double-ply cashmere styles
- T-shirts such as the bias-cut Maya
- Dresses and skirts designed for layering
- Merino double-face as a signature material
Helbers develops shapes directly on the mannequin in a couture-style process. Patterns are refined in a Paris workshop and prototyped at family-owned factories in Italy, with an emphasis on durability.
Why it matters
Fforme reflects the move towards quiet, logo-free luxury, pairing a menswear-trained creative director with founders from merchandising and engineering.
