Products and positioning
The brand makes simple, playful, retro-inspired trainers in colours ranging from neutral black, navy and off-white to pastel pink, bold red and a tri-colour panelled version. Uppers are made from organic woven cotton and soles from recycled rubber. Deadstock and faulty shoes are donated to people in need, including homeless people and refugees.
Distribution
Good News is stocked by retailers including Dover Street Market and Selfridges, and is sold online.
Collaboration with H&M
In April 2021 H&M teamed up with Good News on a unisex trainer collection, with a kids' collection available online from the same date. The range used sustainable materials including Bananatex, a banana plant fibre, and Vegea, a grape leather. Designs included striped slides made from recyclable cotton, low-top trainers made from TENCEL Lyocell with a pattern inspired by Portuguese mosaic tiles, and classic black sneakers. Each sole carries colourful half circles representing the two brands working together.
