What is Incotex?
Incotex is an Italian brand of men's trousers. It is one of four product specialists under Slowear, alongside Zanone (knitwear), Glanshirt (shirts) and Montedoro (outerwear). The official Slowear site lists all four under "Our Brands".
History
Incotex grew out of Industrie Confezioni Tessili, a trouser manufacturer founded by Carlo Compagno, who later launched the Incotex label. His son Roberto Compagno introduced the Slowear concept in 2003 as a counterpoint to fast fashion, bringing together Incotex, Glanshirt, Montedoro and Zanone. Roberto Compagno died in September 2021 at the age of 62.
Ownership
The brand belongs to Slowear S.p.A., based in Mira, near Venice. German trade press reported on 27 April 2026 that Slowear had completed a capital increase led by a shareholder group headed by the private equity firm Nuo, with the Italian state taking a stake through Invitalia. The same report named Alessandro Varisco, formerly of Twinset, as the new CEO, succeeding Piero Braga.
Products and positioning
The Slowear philosophy stresses durable, timeless garments rather than seasonal trends. Incotex applies this to trousers, its core product, in the premium segment of Italian menswear.
Business model and distribution
Incotex is sold through wholesale retailers and through Slowear's own multibrand-style stores. Slowear has opened more than 30 stores, including in Munich and Hamburg, and its store locator lists locations such as Forte dei Marmi, Milan, New York, London and Rome.
Why it matters
Incotex is the oldest of the Slowear labels and a reference for Italian trouser tailoring.
