What is JUTELAUNE?
JUTELAUNE is a small footwear brand that sells shoes handcrafted by local artisans in Spain. All of its products are made in Spain from European materials, and the brand positions itself around sustainable, high quality craftsmanship.
History
The project began in 2015. It was started by Julia, who comes from Menorca, together with friends, after she had studied law and worked in a company job. In 2018 the brand opened a small shop on Herzogstrasse in Munich. Its early range centred on avarcas, the traditional Menorcan sandal, made by hand in a small village on the island, alongside espadrilles produced in La Rioja.
Products and positioning
The current range covers boots, loafers and moccasins, ballerinas and sandals, plus socks in dot, stripe, heart and animal print designs.
- Leather certified by the Leather Working Group
- Socks in certified organic cotton, with organic and recycled fibres for apparel
- Packaging boxes made from 100% recycled materials
- Deliveries by land transport only, to limit CO2 emissions
Distribution
JUTELAUNE sells through its own online shop and to retailers, with a B2B account for stockists and a presence on the Faire wholesale marketplace.
Why it matters
The brand is an example of a small label built on regional Spanish shoemaking traditions, combining artisan production with certified materials and a direct and wholesale sales model.
