What is Kiki McDonough?
Kiki McDonough is a British fine jewellery brand known for its use of coloured gemstones. Its founder is a fifth-generation jeweller whose father owned an antique jewellery shop on Bond Street.
History
McDonough began designing jewellery in 1985, opening a concession in a friend's Mayfair boutique, and opened her own shop on Elizabeth Street in 1989. The business later traded from Walton Street before moving in 2007 to Symons Street, off Sloane Square in Chelsea. In April 2026 she was granted a Royal Warrant by appointment to Queen Camilla.
Products and positioning
The brand is credited with bringing coloured gemstones to the British jewellery scene and introducing detachable earrings to the British market. Her crystal heart earrings are held in the modern jewellery collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Diana, Princess of Wales, wore her jewellery in the 1990s, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Queen Camilla are often seen wearing her pieces.
Distribution
Kiki McDonough sells from its Chelsea shop and online, and through selected jewellery retailers such as Goldsmiths.
Why it matters
Kiki McDonough is a leading example of a British independent fine jewellery house whose royal following has made it a recognisable name in coloured gemstone design.
