What is No Boundaries?
No Boundaries is a private label owned by Walmart and aimed at Generation Z shoppers. It is sold only through Walmart stores and the Walmart website, and has been part of the retailer's apparel offer for around three decades.
History
For much of its life the brand focused on everyday basics such as T-shirts and denim, sourced from several outside suppliers with their own design teams. In July 2024 Walmart relaunched No Boundaries in time for back to school, with a dedicated design team and a 130 piece autumn collection.
Products and positioning
The relaunched range leans into current youth trends. Typical pieces include:
- Baggy jeans, cargo pants and camouflage trousers
- Cropped T-shirts and strappy tops
- Faux leather corsets and bomber jackets
- Denim rompers
Sizing was expanded to run from XXS to 5X, some pieces use recycled fabrics, and most items cost 15 dollars or less.
Distribution
The relaunch rolled out first at a Walmart store in Secaucus, New Jersey, alongside prototype stores in college towns, and online. Marketing runs through TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Roblox.
Why it matters
No Boundaries illustrates how mass retailers are bringing private label design in house to compete for young shoppers on trend and price.
