The company was founded in 1986 in the Swedish ski resort of Åre by professional skiers Stefan Engström, Peter Blom and Christer Mårtensson. It moved to Stockholm in 1999. In 1998 it was acquired by the Danish company Carli Gry International, later IC Group, which also briefly took the brand into the United States. In 2018 it was bought by Amer Sports, which itself was acquired in 2019 by a consortium led by China's Anta Sports.
