Before The Soloist, Miyashita founded NUMBER (N)INE in 1996, showing in Tokyo from 2000 and in Paris from 2004. He left that label in 2009 when its closure was announced. He established TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. in 2010 and presented the first collection, a winter collection, in July of that year.
