What is White Label Project?
White Label Project is an online concept store for luxury fashion and design products made by female-led brands. Rather than producing its own line, it curates a network of more than 40 labels from over 20 countries, including names such as Mola Sasa, Caralarga and Nada Duele.
History
The business was launched in 2019 by Ann-Kathrin Zotz, a Frankfurt-based development economist and entrepreneur, and Caroline Foerster, a brand strategist and consultant based in Stockholm. The founders developed the idea in a London pub before setting up the platform.
Products and positioning
The assortment spans clothing, accessories and design objects, selected to give international visibility to women-run studios, many of them from regions that receive less attention in the global fashion press. Alongside the shop, White Label Project publishes City Design Guides to cities such as Nairobi, Cape Town, Accra and Mumbai.
Distribution
White Label Project trades primarily online through its own e-commerce platform, built on Shopify, and supplements this with occasional pop-up events.
Why it matters
The platform is an example of a curated, mission-led marketplace model, using storytelling and editorial content to connect small female-founded labels with an international customer base.
