What is Aimer Kids?
Aimer Kids is the childrenswear brand of Aimer, one of China's best-known lingerie companies. Alongside Aimer Men, it was created to carry the group's intimate apparel expertise beyond its core market of women aged 25 to 40.
History
The parent company traces its origins to the early 1990s, when materials scientist Zhang Rongming partnered with a Beijing garment factory and launched a bra using a memory alloy design in 1993. Over three decades the group has grown into a multi-brand business listed on China's A-share market.
Products and positioning
Aimer Kids sits within a portfolio that also includes Aimer, Aimer Men, La Clover, Imi's, Aimer Health, Emperorient and the sportswear line Aimer Move. The group's range spans lingerie, loungewear, ready-to-wear, bedding and wellness products, and the children's line extends this offer to younger customers.
Distribution
The group sells through single-brand stores, multi-brand Aimer+ outlets and online channels, with more than 1,700 stores in over 200 Chinese cities and a presence in markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Macau.
Why it matters
Aimer Kids shows how Chinese intimate apparel groups use sub-brands to widen their customer base across age groups within an existing retail network.
