Armand Basi is a Spanish fashion label with roots in a small knitting company that brothers Armand Basi and Josep Basi started in 1948, inspired by their mother's knitted sweaters.
History
By the late 1950s the business had grown into a large textiles company, and a factory on Balcells Street in Barcelona opened in 1958. In 1961 to 1962 the company signed an exclusive contract to manufacture and distribute Lacoste products in Spain. Armand Basi died in January 2009, when the company was reported to be in talks about entering the Chinese market.
