C.P. Company is an Italian clothing brand founded in 1971 in Bologna by the designer Massimo Osti, who died in 2005. It was originally called Chester Perry, and the name was changed to C.P. Company in 1978 after legal action by the British brands Chester Barrie and Fred Perry.
History
Osti sold the company to GFT in 1984 and stayed on as designer until 1994. Carlo Rivetti acquired the brand in 1993, and it became part of Sportswear Company S.p.A. FGF Industry bought it in 2010 and sold it in 2015 to the Hong Kong group Tristate Holdings. In 2019 Lorenzo Osti, Massimo Osti's son, was appointed president.
Products and positioning
The brand is associated with military and workwear-inspired outerwear, including field jackets and the Mille Miglia (Goggle) jacket, first produced in 1988. It developed garment dyeing, known as Tinto in capo, from 1974.
Distribution
C.P. Company opened a flagship store in Milan in 2019, followed by stores in Amsterdam in 2020, Riccione in 2021 and London in 2022. It has worked with partners including Patta, adidas Spezial, Barbour, Clarks Originals and Emporio Armani.
