Carrie K. is a Singaporean artisan jewellery brand founded by Carolyn Kan, who previously worked in advertising and became managing director of M&C Saatchi Singapore. She co-founded the brand with her husband Chiew Huan Chong, who handles production and photography.
History
After a silversmithing apprenticeship in Florence in 2008, Kan debuted Carrie K. in 2009 at Pacific Plaza in Singapore. Early collections focused on leather charm bracelets, rings and earrings. In 2019 the brand opened an atelier at the renovated Funan Mall. Kan also co-founded Keepers, a collective of independent Singaporean designers.
Products and positioning
The brand works with gold, sterling silver, gold plated silver, pearls, leather and gemstones such as garnet and topaz. Pieces have included pendulum earrings, pocket watch necklaces, collar chokers and hoops. Notable collaborations include:
