What is CEP?

CEP is the sports brand of medi, a family-owned German specialist in medical compression technology. According to the brand's own About page, CEP was founded in 2007 by the people behind medi, and named founder Dr Michael Weihermüller as the person who believed athletes could benefit from compression as much as patients. Its global headquarters and product facilities are in Bayreuth, Germany, with a US headquarters in Durham, North Carolina.

History

The brand dates a milestone to 1 July 2007, when the German triathlete Timo Bracht set a course record at the IRONMAN European Championship wearing CEP knee-high socks. The brand says the socks sold out the next day.
