What is Elliatt?
Elliatt is a Sydney-based women's fashion label created by designer Katie Pratt. The business was grown alongside jewellery entrepreneur Amy Li and built its reach primarily through wholesale rather than its own shops.
History
The label began in the early 2010s. By 2017 it was stocked in more than 1,200 boutiques worldwide, including Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, while having no stores in Australia. That year it announced the first of 15 standalone boutiques in China, marking its move into direct retail.
Products and positioning
Elliatt's range focuses on dresses in mini, midi and maxi lengths and gowns, complemented by tops, bottoms, sets, suiting, outerwear and jumpsuits. It also offers bridal and bridesmaid dresses and occasion wear for weddings, graduations, proms and cocktail events.
Distribution
- Wholesale across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and the United States
- Department stores including Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's
- Own e-commerce site
- Standalone boutiques in China
Why it matters
Elliatt illustrates an export-first model for Australian fashion, building global scale through wholesale before opening its own retail, with China as the first market for standalone stores.
