What is Adèle Dejak?
Adèle Dejak is a luxury jewellery and accessories label built in Kenya by its namesake designer. Born in Nigeria and educated in the United Kingdom, Adèle Dejak worked as a typography designer in Rome before moving to Kenya, where she began making jewellery in 2005. Around three years later she opened a shop in the country, trading through the company Adèle Dejak Limited.
Products and positioning
The brand creates handcrafted jewellery and accessories inspired by African tribes, textiles and cultural traditions. Its pieces are natural, recyclable and often bespoke, and the designer has stated that at least 99 per cent of the materials she uses are recycled. A collar necklace by the brand has been sold by the V&A shop in London in connection with its Africa fashion programme.

Besides its Kenyan shop, the label has been stocked in Nairobi, Lagos, New York, Johannesburg and London. It is also available through African luxury platforms such as Industrie Africa.
