What is Chasin'?
Chasin' is a Dutch jeans label. RetailDetail reports that it launched in 1992 as an extra range for the jeans chain Score, run by founder Jan Peters, and has since grown into an independent company. It is described as one of the most popular jeans brands in the Netherlands.
Products and positioning
Jeans are the core of the offer, but the brand also sells non-denim items, which saw a surge in demand in the years before the 2013 report. Retailers pre-order roughly 65 percent of the collection months in advance.
Distribution
At the time of the 2013 article, Chasin' operated 35 own stores in the Netherlands and Belgium and placed shop-in-shops in other retailers' stores, starting with one at Van Tilburg in Nistelrode in 2011. A temporary trade-fair store was planned to enter Germany.
Ownership
A later RetailDetail report says Chasin' and Score went bankrupt in June 2023 and were then taken over by JOG Group, the owner of Garcia, with Mark Hommelberg as CEO. The Netherlands remains its home market, with 75 outlets.
