What is Chevignon?

Chevignon is a French clothing brand best known for leather jackets, outerwear and its flying goose logo. Its website says it has existed since 1979 and presents it as a brand for men who value authentic, reliable products that last.

History

According to French Wikipedia, Guy Azoulay launched the brand in Mazamet with leather blousons. The emblem, a goose in flight, came from a badge he found at a Japanese flea market and first appeared in 1984 on the Tog's down jacket. In 1995 Naf Naf bought Chevignon, with Azoulay staying on as artistic director. When Vivarte acquired Naf Naf in 2007, Chevignon passed with it.

Ownership today

In March 2019 Vivarte sold the brand to Société Civile Financière Royer, the parent company of the Royer group, together with partners Stéphane Collaert and Thierry Le Guenic, who had acquired Texier Maroquinier and Vanessa Bruno respectively, as French Wikipedia reports.

Products and positioning

Chevignon sits in the mid-market segment. The brand's site describes eco-design as central to its creations and stresses durability and transparency.

Business model and distribution

Chevignon sells through its own stores, which it lists in a store locator, and through an official e-shop with free delivery above €150, according to its site.

Why it matters
