What is Dinny Hall?
Dinny Hall is a London based jewellery brand named after its founder. Hall left Central Saint Martins in the early 1980s and set up a jewellery design business from a workshop in Soho, with no formal business training.
History
Early support came from Liberty, whose jewellery buyer showcased her work. Hall went on to design jewellery for the fashion designer Rifat Ozbek and built sales in the United States, dividing her time between London and New York. In 1989 she was voted Accessory Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council.
Products and positioning
The brand designs jewellery that sits between fashion and fine jewellery design. Hall cites influences including Elsa Peretti, Josephine Baker, Nancy Cunard and Lee Miller. Collections have included a Suffragette Collection in violet, white and green.
Distribution
Dinny Hall has operated stores in London locations including Notting Hill, Islington, Hampstead, Marylebone and Seven Dials, and sells through Liberty London and online.
