What is Maison Close?
Maison Close is a French luxury lingerie label known for seductive designs. Founded in 2006, it is led by Nicolas Busnel, its founder, president and creative director. On 22 July 2026, exactly twenty years after its creation, the house began trading under the name SCANDALE.
History
The change of name followed the takeover of Scandale, a French lingerie house first established in 1932 by textile innovator Robert Perrier and credited with helping to redefine women's lingerie in the 1950s. The combined house unites Maison Close's contemporary approach with Scandale's heritage, a move its founder summed up with the line the name is changing, not the vision. Collections that sell out will not return under the Maison Close name.
Products and positioning
The range spans lingerie, bodysuits, ready-to-wear, swimwear and accessories.
- Lingerie collections including Pure Tentation, Corps à Corps, Chambre Noire, Inspiration Divine and Le Petit Secret
- Swimwear lines such as Double Sens and La Femme Amazone
- Bodysuits and accessories
Distribution
The label is sold through specialist lingerie retailers internationally and online. Under its new name it planned a flagship boutique on Rue Cambon in Paris and a first runway show.
Why it matters
The move from Maison Close to SCANDALE is a notable case of a young luxury brand adopting a historic name to strengthen its heritage story and support international growth.
