What is Newmark?
Newmark is a British watch brand with roots in military watchmaking. It was one of the so called Fabulous Four suppliers of aviation watches to the Royal Air Force, alongside CWC, Hamilton and Precista. It was a later and smaller supplier, delivering around 500 watches in 1980.
History
Ewan Wilson acquired the Newmark name in 2016 and launched new watches under it. The revived brand has focused on recreating historic designs for a modern audience, using crowdfunding to bring models to market.
Products and positioning
A key model is the 6BB RAF chronograph, a re-creation of the original double register military chronograph. It uses a meca quartz movement in a 41 mm brushed stainless steel case with a domed crystal, keeping the look of the original while offering an accessible price. The brand has also released other vintage inspired models such as the Newmark 52 field watch.
Why it matters
Newmark is one of several dormant British watch names brought back through heritage re-editions, showing how military provenance and direct online sales can support a small independent watch brand.
