History

Zoe built her name styling celebrities such as Jennifer Garner and Nicole Richie in the 2000s and starred in the Bravo series The Rachel Zoe Project from 2008 to 2013. Before the label, she created the Luxe Rachel Zoe collection for QVC, announced in 2009, covering handbags, jewellery, scarves, sunglasses and outerwear. She also founded the newsletter The Zoe Report in 2009, which later grew into a lifestyle brand and was acquired by Bustle Digital Group in 2019.

Products and positioning

The first contemporary collection in 2011 combined separates, footwear and handbags inspired by the 1960s and 1970s. In 2012 the brand announced an expansion into jewellery and cold weather accessories.

Distribution

The debut collection was sold in more than 275 department stores, including Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. The name has also been extended through collaborations, among them a handbag project with Judith Leiber, a collection with Swedish retailer Lindex in 2011 and a 2016 range of strollers and car seats with Quinny and Maxi Cosi.
