What is SHINYAKOZUKA?

Products and positioning
The brand's concept is picturesque scenery: each collection, released as a numbered Issue, draws on scenes from Kozuka's own drawings and paintings, as well as on London's second-hand clothing and everyday life. Workwear function, hand-painted silhouettes and traditional Japanese uniforms are recurring influences. The range includes:
- Outerwear, knitwear, tops and the signature BAGGY trousers
- Shoes and sandals made in Tokyo
- Accessories and an Ordinary Life line
Fabrics are often developed in-house, mainly in the Owari and Bizen textile regions, and most sewing is done in Japan. Collaborations have included NANGA, Reebok, Dickies, Converse and Tsuchiya Kaban.
Distribution
SHINYAKOZUKA sells through its official online store and stockists, and presents its collections mainly in Paris. It took part in Pitti Uomo in Florence.
Why it matters
Winner of the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2023, SHINYAKOZUKA is one of the Japanese menswear brands combining artistic storytelling with domestic textile craft for an international audience.
