History
The business was founded in 1925 in Alappuzha, Kerala, by Bhima Bhattar. According to the company's history, he melted his wife's silver anklet to make a silver glass, traded it for gold coins and used them to start his stock. Bhima was the first Indian jeweller to offer ready-made jewellery that customers could buy directly from the counter. After the founder's death his five sons ran the group, setting up territorial headquarters while keeping one brand identity.
