What is Reserved?
Reserved is a Polish mid-market fashion brand offering clothing and accessories for women, men and children, as well as home products. LPP describes it as its flagship brand and as a leader in Central and Eastern Europe, interpreting major global trends into functional everyday and occasion wear.
History
LPP was founded in Gdańsk in 1991 by Marek Piechocki and Jerzy Lubianiec, initially importing and distributing clothing. The first Reserved stores opened in Poland in 1998, marking LPP's move into its own retail. The brand then expanded into Eastern Europe from 2002, Germany from 2014 and the Middle East from 2015. LPP has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2001, and the founders transferred their controlling stakes to foundations in 2018.
After Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, LPP sold its Russian business, which then included around 500 stores across its brands. A 2024 short seller report questioned that exit; LPP rejected the allegations.
Products and positioning
Reserved sits above LPP's value brand Sinsay and competes with international high street chains. Its range covers:
- Womenswear and menswear from basics to tailoring
- Kidswear
- Shoes and accessories
- Home collections
LPP states that sustainability criteria apply to a growing share of the collection.
Business model and distribution
Reserved follows an omnichannel model: it operates stores in 25 countries and sells online in 35 markets, including the EU, Ukraine, the Middle East and Kazakhstan. Wikipedia lists 365 Reserved stores in 2024. Logistics run through LPP's own distribution and fulfilment centres in Poland.
Reserved and technology
According to LPP, Reserved uses RFID tracking together with its distribution system to allocate goods to stores according to local demand, and offers shoppers the same product access in stores and online.
Why it matters
Reserved shows how a Central European group built a home-grown alternative to Inditex and H&M. It remains the face of LPP in major Western European cities while Sinsay drives the group's volume growth.
