Pomellato is an Italian jewellery house headquartered in Milan. Its collections include Nudo, Capri, Sabbia, M'Ama Non M'Ama, Iconica, Victoria and Tango. It also operates a second brand, Dodo, launched in 1995.
History
Pino Rabolini founded the company in 1967 and introduced the concept of pret-a-porter jewellery, meaning designer jewellery meant to be worn daily rather than reserved for occasions. The photographer Helmut Newton shot the brand's campaigns from 1982 to 1984. The house made its debut in high jewellery in 2007 with the Pom Pom collection. In 2017 it launched Pomellato for Women, a platform promoting gender equality.
Ownership
Kering acquired Pomellato in July 2013. It sits in the group's jewellery division alongside houses such as Boucheron.
Business model and distribution
Wikipedia reports more than thirty boutiques worldwide, including locations in Milan, Paris, Madrid, Capri, Monte Carlo, New York, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul and Hong Kong. This is a boutique-led model that is complemented by selected jewellery retailers and online sales.
